Take care of yourself
Thank you for choosing Piercing Remedy!
To ensure your new piercing heals beautifully, please follow the aftercare guidelines below:
🧼 Cleaning Instructions
Clean your piercing twice daily using the following steps:
Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing.
Soak a clean cotton pad or use sterile gauze with saline solution (store-bought or homemade: 1/4 tsp non-iodized sea salt in 1 cup of warm distilled water).
Gently compress the piercing for a few minutes to soften any crust.
Dab dry with clean, disposable paper towel or gauze. Avoid cloth towels.
🚫 Do not twist or turn your jewellery while healing.
🚫 What to Avoid
No alcohol or hydrogen peroxide – too harsh and delays healing.
No ointments (like Bepanthen, Savlon, etc.) – they can trap bacteria.
Avoid pools, hot tubs, lakes, and oceans for at least 4 weeks.
Avoid makeup, creams, and sprays near the piercing site.
Do not remove or change jewellery prematurely.
Try to avoid sleeping on fresh piercings

FAQs
-
Does it hurt?
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but most piercings feel like a quick pinch — over in seconds! We’ll guide you through it calmly and gently.
-
How long does it take to heal?
Healing times vary depending on the piercing. Earlobes can take 6–8 weeks, while cartilage and navel piercings may take several months. We’ll give you a full aftercare guide to help you heal smoothly.
-
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! Especially for your first piercing, having support is encouraged. For minors, a parent or guardian must be present.
-
What kind of jewellery do you use?
We only use implant-grade titanium, surgical steel, and solid gold — high-quality materials that are safe for initial piercings and reduce the risk of irritation or infection.
-
Can I swim after getting pierced?
It’s best to avoid swimming in pools, oceans, or spas for at least 4 weeks to prevent infection. Stick to showers and keep your piercing clean and dry.
-
Can I get pierced if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
We don’t recommend it. Your body is more prone to complications during this time, so it's safer to wait.
-
Can I bring my own jewellery?
For fresh piercings, we only use jewellery we can verify is safe and sterile. For healed piercings, you're welcome to bring your own — we’ll assess if it’s suitable.
